Jumu'a in a mosque at an animal stable far from habitation

Question

(1) Forty miles away there is a factory; there are other factories and animal stables as well; Muslims work in them. They have built a small mosque and pray [in it] in congregation. Is the Jumu'a prayer permissible in it or not? (2) Since there is no Jumu'a for ten miles around, what should the people here do?

Answer

If there is no permanent settlement there, only a factory and an animal stable to which people go to work for wages, and there is also a stall selling tea and bidis (thin Indian cigarettes rolled in a leaf), as is usually found at bus stands, then even so Jumu'a is not valid there according to the Shari'a: on Friday too they should pray Zuhr in congregation.
