A mosque is not necessary for the Jumu'a prayer

Question

Here the Muslim employees of several offices, during office hours, pray only the Zuhr prayers in congregation on an open ground adjoining an educational institution; for the other three prayers there is neither a congregation nor even the prayer itself. Because of the constraints of their employment, the employees pray in congregation at this very place. In such a situation, where the five prayers are not all performed, can the Jumu'a prayer be performed there — will it be valid or not?

Answer

For the Jumu'a prayer it is not necessary that there be a mosque: it is valid even on an open ground of the settlement. [ar]لو صلى الجمعة في قرية بغير مسجد جامع والقرية كبيرة لها قرى وفيها والٍ وحاكم جازت الجمعة، بنوا المساجد أو لم يبنوا.
