A mosque is not a condition for the Friday prayer
Question
The old congregational mosque was completely demolished for the sake of a madrasa; performing the daily (waqtiyya) prayers and Jumu'a in it is difficult. Is it correct, for a few months, to prepare another place for prayer outside the mosque and perform the daily prayers and the Friday prayer [there], or not? And is a mosque a condition for the Friday prayer or not? Or can it also be [held] outside the mosque when necessary?
Answer
Outside the mosque, too, [it] is correct — whether it be an open ground or a building. [ar]السلطان إذا أراد أن يجمع بحشمه في داره، فإن فتح باب الدار وأذن إذنا عاما جازت صلاته، شهدها العامة أو لم يشهدوها، كذا في المحيط.
