Walking on graves

Question

Because the graves in the graveyard are broken and haphazardly arranged, when people bring the deceased to the graveyard they walk along trampling the graves with their feet. So if a few graves are levelled and straight paths are made, will this be permissible?

Answer

Where there are graves, not all the people should go there together with the deceased as a crowd, so that feet land on the graves; rather, only as many people as are needed should go, carefully, avoiding the graves. Likewise, graves should be made leaving space suitable for coming and going for burials.
