Abusing Allah the Pure

Question

Zayd, in ignorance, said a few indecent words about Allah — he abused Allah the Pure with abuse of mother and sister; the thought arose in his heart that nothing comes of worship and the like: the more you pray and make supplication, the more the opposite happens. On a journey the road was gravel, the bicycle had broken down, they were distressed, and at that moment the above words came out of his mouth. After that, did iman remain or did kufr become incumbent?

Answer

Zayd must renew his iman; his marriage too has ended. Now that, two or three years later, he has given his wife an irrevocable triple divorce, she is not lawful for him without halala — she has become absolutely forbidden. So why did the need arise to ask about renewing the marriage with her without halala?
