Abusing Allah Most High and Insulting the Fast of Ramadan

Question

In the village of Panju Chak, Pathankot, on the blessed Friday, a gathering of fasting Muslims was in progress — that is, they were to go for the Friday prayer and other good works; it was exactly two o’clock in the afternoon — when one Damad of Husayn Bakhsh Pura, a Gujjar (a member of a pastoral and farming caste of North India), was smoking a tobacco bidi (a thin Indian cigarette rolled in a leaf) and blowing out smoke.

Answer

The person mentioned has uttered very grave words; with such words iman does not remain intact. He must at once repent and seek forgiveness, renew his iman, and contract his marriage again. If he is not prepared for this, the Muslims should cut off relations with him — so that they are not affected by his corrupt beliefs, and so that he, worn down, becomes inclined to reform…
