Insolence towards Allah
Question
A man says, “Allah is very needy (na‘udhu billah), very poor, for what does He have? Nothing at all.” When asked what he means, he says, “I mean that He has neither hands, nor feet, nor eyes, nor mouth.” What is the ruling on such a person, and how are words of this kind regarded in the Sacred Law?
Answer
Saying this too is a grave insolence; it contradicts [ar]يَدُ اللهِ فَوْقَ أَيْدِيهِمْ[/ar] (“The Hand of Allah is over their hands,” 48:10) and other texts [of Revelation]. Hence he too should be ordered to repent, and to renew his iman and renew his marriage.
