Is God Unjust (na‘udhu billah)?
Question
A certain man says that injustice (zulm) on the part of Allah Most High is possible — indeed actual — and argues thus: suppose Zayd killed ‘Umar or committed any other major sin and died a hundred years ago; it is certain that Allah will consign him to Hell. Then Bakr dies — a hundred years after Zayd — and he too committed a major sin; neither of the two repented, so he too will go to Hell.
Answer
Zulm means wrongful disposal of another’s property. All creatures are the property of Allah Most High; hence whatever the Creator and Owner does with His owned creatures will not be zulm. To call it zulm is due to ignorance: such a person understands neither the meaning of the words nor the etiquette due to the Lord.
