What is the fault of children born of zina?
Question
Question: Children born of an illicit relationship between a man and a woman are called “illegitimate” in the biradari (kinship community) and are expelled from the biradari. I do not understand: the fault is the parents’ — so why does a stain ultimately remain on the boy until the Day of Resurrection?
Answer
Such children bear no fault; whatever punishment there is, it is for those who committed the unlawful act.
