Prayer, Salutation, and Staying in the Haram During Menstruation
Question
During a stay in Noble Mecca or Luminous Madinah, a woman or young girl began her menstrual period. The husband, out of concern for safety and honour, does not want to leave his wife or daughter alone in the place of accommodation, and time is short; he himself wishes to perform prayers in the Haram, perform tawaf, and in Madinah — perform prayers and send salutations (salam) to the Prophet ﷺ. Some women advise such women: 'Do not tell anyone, perform prayers, do tawaf, and send salam.' This is an obvious sin.
Answer
She should not be brought into the mosque itself. He should seat her near the mosque but outside its boundaries, so that she may engage in remembrance of Allah (tasbih) and seeking forgiveness (istighfar) there. She may also recite salat and salam (salutations to the Prophet ﷺ) in that place.
