Signing on the Hajj Form That One Has Not Performed Hajj for Five Years, When Untrue, Is Deception
Question
(1) The Hajj application form also contains a declaration that the applicant has not performed Hajj within five years. If a person has already gone, will he be called a deceiver or not? (2) A person sends Zayd to perform Hajj badal (proxy Hajj), but Zayd cannot go for a legal reason. Is there room for Zayd to write that he has not gone for Hajj within five years, or should he only sign in the box and write nothing? If in such a case he goes for Hajj, will the Hajj be valid or not? (3)
Answer
(1) What doubt is there about that? (2) Writing this or signing is not permitted; if he writes so or signs, he will be sinful. However, because of this the obligatory (fard) Hajj he has already performed will not become void so that performing Hajj again becomes fard upon him.
