Did ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Bakr ﵁ Himself Enter Ihram When He Took ‘A’isha ﵂ for ‘Umra from Tan‘im?
Question
When ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Bakr ﵁ took Hazrat ‘A’isha ﵂ for ‘Umra from Tan‘im, did Hazrat ‘Abd al-Rahman ﵁ enter ihram from Tan‘im or not? In Makka scholars say in their talks that Hazrat ‘Abd al-Rahman ﵁ did not enter ihram from Tan‘im; therefore, if ‘Umra is performed after Hajj, ihram from Tan‘im is not necessary for it; rather, one whose home is within the Haram itself may enter ihram from home?
Answer
Why did they not quote the text from which permissibility is known? Did he perform ‘Umra? And if it is established that he performed ‘Umra without ihram, is it then correct in the view of those respected gentlemen to do so? Editor’s note: for a resident of Makka (makki) there are two views regarding the ihram of ‘Umra.
