Hajj Badal on Behalf of a Blind Woman

Question

There is a blind woman who is healthy, and Hajj is fard upon her. Can she have Hajj badal (proxy Hajj) performed, or should she perform the obligatory Hajj herself? What is the ruling?

Answer

If she is eager to go herself and a mahram is available who will take her along, she may go and perform Hajj herself; and if she does not wish to go, she may also have Hajj badal performed.
