What Is the Ruling If One Performing Qiran Leaves Ihram After the ‘Umra?

Question

Question: A man in Pakistan made the intention of qiran for a Hajj badal (proxy Hajj). He came to the noble Sacred Mosque of Makkah and performed the ‘Umra. Since he is with a mu‘allim (the guide who looks after pilgrims in Makkah), the mu‘allim is sending him to Madinah the Radiant. Should he leave ihram or not? And if he does leave it, what dam will he have to give?

Answer

It is not correct for one performing qiran (the qarin) to leave ihram after merely performing the ‘Umra; he may leave ihram after the Hajj. If he left ihram earlier, his qiran has become void, and a dam will be binding upon him.
