What to Do If the Farewell Tawaf Was Not Performed
Question
Question: Hind performed Hajj but did not perform the farewell tawaf; she has come back to India without the farewell tawaf. Does a dam become binding in such a case? If a dam is binding, should it be slaughtered in the place where Hind lives, or in Makkah al-Mu'azzama? And if the binding dam is slaughtered here, should its meat and hide be given away in charity entirely, or divided into three portions as with the Eid sacrifice?
Answer
If after tawaf al-ziyara she performed even one tawaf, even with the intention of a supererogatory (nafl) one, that itself became the farewell tawaf. If she did not perform a single tawaf, let her send the value of one dam to Makkah al-Mukarrama; it should be slaughtered there and given to the poor as sadaqa.
