Is a Promise of Hajj Made to One's Wife an Obstacle for the Husband?

Question

The questioner promised his wife that he would take her for Hajj once, but the wife is not in a position to obtain permission to travel under the prevailing law. Will this be an obstacle to the questioner's Hajj?

Answer

Your wife's not being in such a position is not an obstacle to Hajj for you.
