The Condition in a Hajj Application: “I Have Not Performed Hajj for Such a Period”

Question

For the past few years, because the government's Hajj Committee has fixed quotas, Mogul Line Limited (a shipping company carrying pilgrims) has added a clause to the Hajj form to this effect: “Have you performed Hajj in any year before this?” (that is, anyone who, before filling in the form, has performed Hajj even once in his life, whether nafl or fard Hajj).

Answer

Hajj is a great act of worship through which all sins are forgiven. Lying is a sin, and sin is not permitted for the sake of worship. Besides, doing something against the law means putting one's property and honour at risk, which is not wise.
