Killing someone for the sake of property
Question
Zayd is impotent; he has absolutely no male potency. He had a sizeable property. Bakr had a sister whose husband is alive, and she has two children. The husband was fulfilling all the rights of his wife, but Bakr forcibly obtained a divorce (talaq) for his sister, with the idea that by marrying his sister to Zayd, who is impotent, he would acquire the property. In any case, Bakr had his sister Hinda married (nikah) to Zayd. After only a few days Zayd died.
Answer
Killing Hinda is by no means permissible; it is absolutely haram, and its punishment is Hell. When the decree has legally been given in Hinda’s favour, would that property pass to Khalid upon Hinda’s death, when he himself would be Hinda’s murderer?
