Kissing the feet of one’s parents

Question

Question: May one, with good intention, kiss the feet of one’s parents, spiritual guide and teachers, or not?

Answer

Kissing the feet of parents, teachers and shaykhs is permitted, provided that the form of a prostration (sajda) does not arise and it does not appear to onlookers that he is prostrating; otherwise it is not permitted. And caution also requires that their feet, too, not be kissed.
