Touching one’s mother’s feet out of reverence
Question
Question: According to Islamic principles, is it permissible to touch one’s mother’s feet out of reverence or not? Kindly provide evidence from the Qur’an and hadith.
Answer
I have not seen touching the mother’s feet for reverence in any verse of the Holy Qur’an or in any narration of the noble hadith. This is not an Islamic form of reverence; rather, it is the way of others, which one should avoid.
