The ring and the watch chain

Question: [ar]في الجامع الصغير: ولا يتختم إلا بالفضة، وهذا نص على أن التختم بالحجر والحديد والصفر حرام. ورأى رسول الله ﷺ على رجل خاتم صفر فقال: ما لي أجد منك رائحة الأصنام، ورأى على آخر خاتم حديد فقال: ما لي أرى عليك حلية أهل النار[/ar] “In al-Jami‘ al-Saghir: ‘And one does not wear a ring except of silver.’ This is an explicit text (nass) that wearing a ring of stone, iron or brass is haram. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw a brass ring on a man and said: ‘Why do I find on you the smell of idols?

Answer

[ar](١) ولا يتحلى الرجل بالذهب والفضة إلا بالخاتم والمنطقة وحلية السيف من الفضة[/ar] (1) “A man does not adorn himself with gold and silver except with a ring, a belt and the ornamentation of a sword of silver” (the text of al-Kanz). [ar]قوله: من الفضة، قيد للمذكور جميعه. عيني[/ar] “His words ‘of silver’ are a restriction applying to all of the above.
