The ruling on the hair of the throat
Question
Question: There is a book by the respected Hazrat Mufti Sa‘dullah, Hidayat al-Nur, in Persian; Mawlana ‘Abd al-Ghani Rasulawi Barabankawi translated it under the title Tanwir al-Shu‘ur. In this book, in the first chapter, second section, which deals with the issues of the beard, it is written that it is the name for the hair of the dhaqan, that is, the chin, and of both cheeks.
Answer
Respected one, may your honour increase! As-salamu ‘alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh. Removing the hair on whatever part of the throat it may be is not cutting the beard; it is not included in the beard.
