Dyeing the beard and the head

Question

Question: What is the ruling on applying henna or some other kind of dye (khidab) to the hair of the beard or the head? Did any of the Rightly Guided Caliphs do it or not?

Answer

Dyeing the head and the beard with henna is permissible because of illness. Hazrat the Prophet ﷺ advised the father of Hazrat Abu Bakr ﵁ to dye with henna.
