A warning about tight clothing

Question

Question: Ordinary Muslim men and women, imitating other nations, have started wearing tight clothing in which all the limbs of the body show. All of this is equivalent to nakedness, and nakedness is haram. So where have the scholars of religion fallen asleep?

Answer

The scholars of religion are awake and keep awakening others. Thus, on this issue too, articles were published for a long time in many instalments in the journal Nizam (Kanpur), and it has also been discussed in the journal Dar al-‘Ulum (Deoband). If other people, despite this awakening, still remain asleep, they themselves are responsible.
