The prevalent “fancy” burqa

Question

Question: What is the ruling on using the “fancy” burqa prevalent nowadays, which is made of silk and is sewn to cling to the body?

Answer

If a woman must go out of the house for some need, she should go out wrapped in a worn, drab sheet in such a way that no one’s gaze falls on her body either, and that her clothing is not eye-catching. In the noble hadith it is stated that a woman who goes out of the house wearing fragrant perfume is “such and such”, i.e. she invites people to fornication.
