Chintz cloth for women and men

Question: What is the ruling on a Muslim man wearing clothing of printed chintz, given that nowadays men and women all wear the same clothing?

Answer

Clothing that is specific to women is prohibited for men to use, and likewise the reverse. A curse has come upon the woman who adopts the appearance of a man, and likewise a curse has also come upon the man who adopts the appearance of a woman.
