A silk handkerchief and a silk drawstring
Question
Question: Is it proper or improper for men to use a silk handkerchief and drawstring?
Answer
A drawstring of pure silk, and one whose weft is silk, is impermissible for a man; however, if the warp is silk and the weft is of cotton thread or something else, it is permissible. A handkerchief as such is permissible; if it is out of arrogance, it is impermissible, and being costly is a sign of arrogance.
