Wearing terylene
Question
Nowadays people commonly wear the kurta (a long loose shirt), shirt, sherwani (long coat) and other garments made of terylene and terry-cot (fabrics). From the standpoint of the Shari‘a, is there anything objectionable in using them, and is there any harm in praying, or leading the prayer, while wearing such clothing?
Answer
If it is not impure, fully covers the ‘awra, and is not a distinctive symbol (shi‘ar) of the kafirs or the fasiqs, then using it is correct.
