A man wearing terylene when it also contains silk
Question
There is a cloth called terylene. Is it permissible for a man to use it or not, given that it also contains silk?
Answer
If the silk in it is not predominant, it is correct for a man. Thus it is in al-Durr al-Mukhtar: [ar]وَيَحِلُّ لُبْسُ مَا سَدَاهُ إِبْرَيْسَمٌ وَلُحْمَتُهُ غَيْرُهُ[/ar] “And it is lawful to wear that whose warp is silk and whose weft is something else.”
