Selling the Hide of a Dead Animal after Salting It

Question

Is it permissible to sell and buy the hide of dead livestock merely by rubbing salt on it, or not?

Answer

If, by applying salt to the hide of dead livestock, it becomes protected from decaying and rotting, then buying and selling it is permissible.
