Reciting Salawat and Salam Before a Photograph of the Sacred Rawda

Question

Out of devotion I have framed and kept a photograph of the Sacred Rawda of Hazrat the Accepted Messenger Muhammad Mustafa ﷺ and of Hazrat Abu Bakr al-Siddiq ﵁. Whenever my eye falls upon it, my heart spontaneously wishes to recite salawat, but I fall silent, thinking: I do not know what this act of mine would be according to the Sacred Law.

Answer

There is no harm in keeping a picture of the Sacred Rawda with respect and looking upon it, and salawat is a very great treasure and felicity: however much of it is recited, it is light upon light. But this should not be done with that picture placed before oneself: there is the fear that, in the mind, this picture might take the place of the actual blessed grave.
