Prayer and Recitation of the Qur’an in the Grave

Question

In a reliable book the sayings of the pious elders have been quoted to the effect that some persons, after departing from this transient world, used to observe prayer regularly in their graves, and the elders witnessed such incidents with their own eyes. Are such incidents worthy of credence or not? And some (of the dead) also used to recite the Holy Qur’an, and their bodies too were in good condition — how far is this correct?

Answer

Numerous incidents of this kind are mentioned in “Sharh al-Sudur”. By the protection and permission of Allah, the Lord of Might, it is not far-fetched that such a thing should happen.
