The Pangs of Death for One Who Is Sinless
Question
Question: For what reason do children suffer the pangs of death (sakarat), although they are sinless?
Answer
And for what reason do the prophets ﵈ suffer them, although they too are sinless? It is commonly held among the people that one who suffers greater pangs of death is a great sinner, while one whose soul departs easily has no sins upon him; but this notion is not correct as a general rule.
