The Meaning of a Hemistich of Hazrat Piran-e Pir (Shaykh ‘Abd al-Qadir al-Jilani)

Question

The “Qasida Ghawthiyya” (قصیدہ غوثیہ) is a well-known composition of Shaykh Sayyid ‘Abd al-Qadir al-Jilani ﵀. In it there is a verse whose meaning is approximately this: “The months and days that come upon the world come first to me and inform me of their evil and good.” What does this mean? And is the qasida really the words of the Hazrat?

Answer

This verse is certainly present in the “Qasida Ghawthiyya”. If the attribution of this qasida to the Shaykh is sound, then apparently its meaning is that in it the Shaykh is describing his kashf (spiritual unveiling)
