Removing the Misunderstanding about the Passage in “Hifz al-Iman”

The enclosed istifta (request for a fatwa) is forwarded to you. These are old questions and objections; the best and well-argued answers to them have already been given. Kindly write it out in fine handwriting and in the best argued form, and let the answer be satisfying, so that on occasion people may be set at ease by means of it; having completed it, please send it to the central office.

This question has come many times and the answer has been written; indeed, several commentaries on “Hifz al-Iman” have been written: in “Bast al-Banan”, “Tawdih al-Bayan”, “Takmil al-‘Irfan”, “al-Junna li-Ahl al-Sunna”, “al-Sahab al-Midrar” and others the matter has been discussed in great detail.
