Showing One’s Palm to Learn the Future Is Impermissible

Question

Is it permissible, in order to learn the future, to show one’s palm to an expert in this art (palmistry)?

Answer

It is impermissible. One whose belief is already corrupt must correct his belief and repent. And one whose belief is not corrupt but who shows his palm merely by way of experiment — for him too there is no permission, because there is a danger of his own belief becoming corrupt, and for people of corrupt belief it will serve as a confirmation of the corruption of their belief.
