A Goat Dedicated to a Spiritual Guide Is Not Made Halal by Slaughter
Question
A goat dedicated in the name of a spiritual guide — given that the name of Allah is pronounced at the time of slaughter — is it haram, halal or makruh, seeing that in the tafsir there is no proof of its being haram?
Answer
It is haram. [ar]صَرَّحَ بِهِ فِي تَفْسِيرِ الْإِكْلِيلِ حَاشِيَةِ مَدَارِكِ التَّنْزِيلِ وَأَكْثَرَ فِيهِ مِنَ النُّقُولِ، وَأَيْضًا صَرَّحَ بِهِ فِي تَفْسِيرِ عَزِيزِي[/ar] “This is stated explicitly in the tafsir ‘al-Iklil’, the gloss on ‘Madarik al-Tanzil’, where many transmitted texts on it are gathered; it is likewise stated explicitly in ‘Tafsir-i ‘Azizi’.”
