Adopting a Special Posture Under a Tree for Success
Question
There is a certain tree. Many people go under it, squat down, prop their hands on the ground and fix their gaze on their feet. The one who tells of it says: if the undertaking is to succeed, the hands slide forward of themselves and the person falls prone on the ground; if there is to be no success in the undertaking, he simply remains sitting as he was and nothing happens. Is doing this permissible or impermissible according to the Sacred Law? Is it counted as a prostration (sajda) or not?
Answer
When the soul is breathed into the child in its mother’s womb, at that very moment his provision and his deeds for his entire life are written down there. Detailed knowledge of what exactly has been written belongs to Allah and to no one else.
