The Issue of Imkan al-Kidhb and the Fraud in “al-Fath al-Mubin”

Question

In March ’75, at the place Kosiyar, a debate took place between the scholars of Deoband and the Barelvi scholars; on the opponents’ side was Muhammad Hasan Sanbhali, and on our side were the local scholars. Our scholars, for certain reasons, could not answer a few points. Their principal objection was imkan al-kidhb (the possibility of falsehood [on the part of Allah]). Hazrat Gangohi wrote in “Fatawa Rashidiyya” that the occurrence of falsehood (wuqu‘ al-kidhb)

Answer

“Al-Fath al-Mubin” was printed by the innovators (mubtadi‘un), and they added a supplement which is not the work of the author of “al-Fath al-Mubin”; and the signatures of the noble scholars, which stood at the end of “al-Fath al-Mubin”, they transferred to the end of the supplement, so that the reader should think that these noble scholars agree with and endorse this…
