Affirming the Possible Alongside the Impossible

Question

To affirm the possible alongside the impossible — is that, as it were, like affirming grass in the fragrance of flowers?

Answer

To have power over possible things (mumkinat) is an attribute of perfection, and to be incapable is a deficiency, from which Allah the Exalted is free. To be free of impossible things (muhalat) is an attribute of perfection, and to be characterised by impossible things is a deficiency, from which Allah the Exalted is free.
