Is God in Everything?

Question

If a Muslim holds the belief that God is in everything — so much so that even idols are not other than God — has he gone out of the fold of Islam?

Answer

Everything should be believed to be the creation of God. The belief that everything is God — so much so that even idols are not other than God — is not an Islamic belief; one who holds such a belief is outside the fold of Islam.
