Sacrifice in a Graveyard
Question
The scholars of Ramnagar (Nainital) have stated that performing the sacrifice in the graveyard is not permissible; despite this the Muslims paid no attention. The Board is ready to give another place, but even so most of the Muslims did not accept this, on the grounds that if the sacrifice is held in another place there is a fear of unrest (fasad). So what should be done in this regard? And what is the way according to the Sunna?
Answer
A graveyard is for burying the dead; the sacrifice should not be performed there. Since the Board is ready to give a place for the sacrifice, the place should be obtained and secured, and the sacrifice should be performed in it alone. The Board's proposal will be a legal proposal — why should there be any fear of unrest in it?
