Special food for the teachers
Question
If, with the permission of the managing committee, ordinary food is cooked from the madrasa’s money for the madrasa’s students and special food for the teachers, is this special food permissible for the teachers or not? What is the ruling on it? (2) Is treating people as ordinary and special permissible according to the Shari‘a or not? (3) Is there any precedent or proof for this in Islam? If there is, kindly set it down in writing. (4)
Answer
In the noble hadith it is stated: [ar]أَنْزِلُوا النَّاسَ مَنَازِلَهُمْ[/ar] “Give people their due station,” as is mentioned in “al-Jami‘ al-Saghir” (vol. 1, p. 108) from the narration of Muslim and Abu Dawud. In view of this hadith, countless instances of singling out and of treating alike have come about.
