A Kabaddi Match with a Stake, and Its Prize Money for a Madrasa
Question
Question: In this city there is great enthusiasm for playing kabaddi (a team contact game popular in South Asia); in every quarter there are kabaddi teams which compete with one another, in which each team pays a fee, and then that money is given to some religious madrasa. Obviously, in a game of kabaddi there is winning and losing too. Is it proper to spend this kind of money on the madrasa? In kabaddi people play with their satr (the part of the body that must be covered)
Answer
If the arrangement of money for winning and losing is from both sides, it is impermissible; such money must be returned: return it to the one from whom it was taken, and do not give it to any madrasa or the like.
