Cinema and ‘Urs (an annual festival at a saint’s tomb on his death anniversary) to Run a Madrasa

Question

Question: The financial condition of an Urdu school is weak. Therefore, what is the ruling on holding a cinema show and a qawwali (Sufi devotional singing with music) in the name of charity, and putting the income from it into the Urdu school or a madrasa?

Answer

Holding cinema or anything of this kind in order to run a madrasa, and obtaining money from it, is not permissible. By no means, by no means do this.
