Using the Madrasa’s Clods in Travel

Question

May every student use his madrasa’s clods for istinja (cleansing after relieving oneself) while travelling? If the mutawalli (trustee) gives permission, will that be regarded as permission according to the Shari‘a or not?

Answer

These clods are for use in the madrasa, not for taking along on a journey. As for the mutawalli’s permission, first find out whether the mutawalli himself is authorised to give such permission or not.
