Expiation for using madrasa property without permission

Question

A man, during his student days, used to take extra food rations and also used to take coal from the kitchen. Now he is ashamed of this sin and wishes to make expiation (kaffara) for it. What should he do? And if he sends something to the Darul Uloom, under which head should it be spent?

Answer

Let him estimate the total amount and keep sending it to the madrasa Darul Uloom under the head of funds requiring transfer of ownership (tamlik) (sadaqat al-fitr, the value of sacrificial hides, zakat, nadhr and the like).
