A Path Through Madrasa Land

Question

The old path shown on the plan, which lies at the far edge of the madrasa, is now being closed off by the madrasa people. Since the madrasa people have bought the land immediately adjoining the path for approximately two hundred rupees, the residents of the neighbourhood will now face great difficulty in going to the mosque and getting to the Dehradun road. Therefore the residents of the neighbourhood want a path four or five feet wide to be given to them out of the land newly bought by the madrasa.

Answer

A public path that has existed since olden times, along which everyone has walked and passed without hindrance, may not be closed off. If the residents of the neighbourhood ask for some path, a path should be made for them.
