Land Endowed for a Religious Madrasa That Now Also Teaches English and Bengali
Question
Fifty years ago Zayd made some land a waqf for a madrasa, and to this day the madrasa has continued to benefit from it. Previously the syllabus consisted only of nahw (Arabic grammar), Persian, fiqh and mantiq (logic); now it has advanced to the Qur’an, hadith and tafsir, and out of necessity Bengali and English have also been added. Now the waqifs (endowers) say that, since English and Bengali have come into it, the land should be given to our new madrasa.
Answer
At the time the waqf was made, the madrasa was probably in its initial state; then Allah Most High granted it progress, and the teaching of hadith and tafsir also began. This is a favour of the Most High Real (al-Haqq), and the sincerity of the waqif is also at work in it. Just as logic and literature (adab)
