Money Given to a Custodian for a Madrasa Which He Consumed

Question

Zayd gave money for a mosque, or a madrasa, or any other good cause, and the trustees consumed that money and rendered no account. Will the giver receive reward (thawab)?

Answer

Zayd will receive the reward; those in between who consumed it will be held to account, and liability (daman) will be binding upon them.
